The first annual Computational Law & Blockchain Festival (#clbfest2018) is a three-day global event bringing together coders, designers, lawyers, policymakers, researchers, and students to co-create the future of law, legal practice, and policy. In the spirit of decentralization, the Festival is hosted at independent, self-organized nodes in cities around the world.
The Sydney node will be hosted by the UTS Faculty of Law at the UTS Hatchery.
Day one – LEARN – 17 March

Day two – DISCUSS – 18 March
Day two will feature a ‘Global Symposium’ (live-streamed to the other nodes and the world), facilitated by Dr Pip Ryan, barrister and lecturer at UTS Faculty of Law, that addresses core policy areas related to blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies in these areas: • Taxation
• Securities Law
• AML/Financial Surveillance
• Financial Services Licensing/Chartering
• Privacy & Security
• Smart contracts as legal contracts
